Top 5 NBA Centers of All Time (#3 Pick)

3. Bill Russell

Arguably the best Celtic NBA player, Bill Russell will hold the #3 spot. At the shorter height of 6’ 9, he showed the NBA world that being a shorter height for center does not matter. In fact, he was so great that many lists consider him the #1 or #2 pick. The reason why I put him at the 3rd pick is because the lack of his PPG, he doesn’t have as many awards (Other than Championships and MVPs), and he didn’t play as many years compared to the top 2. Out of the 13 years

that Bill Russell played; it is breathtaking how he won 11 championships (NBA Record)! On top of that he won 5 MVPs throughout his career. There is no doubt that Bill Russell is one of the greats, and one of the best to ever be on the court.

Bill Russell averaged 15.1 PPG, a mind-blowing 22.5 RPG (crazy to think about RPG because he’s the shortest on the list), won 11x Champions, 5x MVPs, 1x All defensive, 12x All Star, 4x TRC, and 1x AS MVP.

He played for the Celtics throughout his 13 – year career, from 1957, 1969.
