Top 5 NBA Centers of All Time (Number 5 Pick)

Out of all the positions on the court, the center position is one of the most important ones. Centers particularly gather rebounds, set screens for guards, and block/contest shots. Centers are usually the bigger men on the court, as the normal height of an NBA center is 6 '10. There are countless numbers of centers throughout the decades, so this list is not as accurate as what you think might be top 5; these are my opinions. Today, I am going to share the 5th pick for my list!

5. Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal

You most likely already knew that Shaq was going to be on this list. Many NBA fans have different opinions on him, many think this 7’ 1 giant is one of the best, and some think he is substandard at basket-ball. I put him at #5 because Shaq is more nonathletic than the other greats mentioned on the list. Furthermore, he is unable to shoot, only making one 3 pointer out of the 22 he took  throughout his 19-year span career. He is known for being one of the best in the post, attacking the rim with high degree of effectiveness. Overall, I think we can all agree that if you are the one guarding him, best believe that you have 0 chance of scoring on him, and having no chance of guarding him in the post.

Shaquille O’Neal averaged a solid 23.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG throughout his career, he has 3x season MVPs, 3x Finals MVPs, 15x All Star, 3x All Defensive, ROTY, and holds 2 scoring titles.

He played for Orlando Magic, LA Lakers (his prime years), Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and finally Boston Celtics, where he retired in 2011.

Stay tuned for next week, I am going to be posting the #4 pick on Saturday!
